U.A.E GRABBED MEDALS IN 24TH ASIAN INTERNATIONAL STAMP EXHIBITION (PHILAKOREA
2009)
The Emirates Philatelic Association (EPA) participated in the 24th Asian
International Stamp Exhibition held in Seoul, Korea from 30th July – 4th
August 2009. The exhibitors from 30 countries participated in the show.
EPA participants in the show won number of laurels for their entries at
the exhibition. Mr. Thomas Johansen won Large Vermeil for “Bahrain
Postal History - The Indian Period”. Mr. Muhammad Javaid won Vermeil
medal for his exhibit “Great Britain Pre Stamp Postmarks 1770’s – 1840”.
Mr. Ahmad Bin Eisa Al Serkal won Large Silver medal for “Abu Dhabi
Stamps 1963-1973” and Mr. Ali Abdul Rahman also won Large Silver medal
for his collection “India: Asoka Stationery” .
Mr. Faleh Mubarak Al Malagheeth was the National Commissioner for the
exhibition from United Arab Emirates and EPA current President Mr.
Abdulla M. T. Khoory was appointed as a Jury member for the exhibition.
Another prestigious achievement for United Arab Emirates and EPA was the
election of Mr. Abdulla M. T. Khoory as “Honorary Secretary” of the
Federation of Inter-Asian Philately (FIAP) for the next 4 years.
He was elected during the FIAP Congress meeting held on August 2, 2009
in Seoul, Korea.
These achievements have enhanced our prestige in the world of philately.
It is a great honour for United Arab Emirates to achieve above
successes.
