much is known about Bin Dhaher's progeny, except for an unidentified girl.
Details about Bin Dhaher's life are lost in mystery, but that does not diminish
his importance as a poet. He has left a rich legacy of poetic work and his poems
are recited by the people from all corners of the UAE.
The poet worked in fishing and pearl diving. Bin Dhaher owned a shasha (a small
boat made of palIn leaves) and he used it to earn a living for his family.
Bin Dhaher is considered one of Nabat poets and regarded as one of top poets of
his times. In fact, literary critics rate Bin Dhaher very highly and acknowledge
his accomplishments as something that cannot be matched. The characteristics of
his poetry are linguistic excellence, structure and lyrical depths that reflect
cultural richness and extensive knowledge.
To commemorate the heritage of the great poet and in coordination with the

Scientific Association in Dubai, Emirates Post is issuing a set of commemorative
stamps in two denominations (50 Fils & 175 Fils). The stamps bear lines from his
