International Year Of The Family 1994

The United Nations has designated the year 1994 as" The Year of the Family" to emphasise the role of the family which is the foundation of society and the source of its strength and security. The main issues to be addressed in the year are the care and protection of the family and its members, and the strengthening of its capabilities. 

International Olympic Committee Centenary

The Intentional Olympic Committee was established in the year 1894 at a meeting held by Pierre de Couberrtin and other in the Sorbonne, Paris. The First Olympic Games were held in Athens. Greece in 1879 when only 13 countries participated. Now more than 160 countries have joined the games represented by their National Olympic Committees. The games are held every four years and they are divided to Winter Olympic Games, Summer Olympic Games. 

Emirates Writers & Literatures Union 10th Anniversary

Established on May 26, 1984 , the Emirates Writers & Literial Association has played a vital role in the cultural movement of the United Arab Emirates. It has helped to develop the cultural and scientific standards in order (0 protect the rights of the Writers, and Literians, published their works, and represented the country in the Arab and International Conferences, thus ensuring their role in the Arab world and internationa1ly.

Arab Housing Day

Arab countries will celebrate October 4,1994 as the "Arab Housing Day" with the slogan: " Building Planning -An ideal housing environment with improve services" .The celebration in the Arab World reflects the importance given by the authorities in these countries to provide adequate housing to its citizens as this is one of the basic needs of society. 

The Archaeological discoveries in the Emirate of Dubai has revealed that the Emirate had an impressive ancient history and civilization which dates back 5000 years. This is indicated by various items such as domestic and funerial pottery, soft stone vessels, jewellery beads, shells and pearls all found in burial grave and in the settlements of AI Ghusais, Hatta, Umm Saqeim and Jumeirah.
