In response to the directions of His Highness, the President, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan AI Nahyan and under his sponsorship, and in accordance with the policy of the United Arab Emirates in the field of the development programs, specially the agriculture development, the United Arab Emirates University will held "International! Conference on High Salinity Tolerant Plants in Arid Regions" during the period from 8th to 15th December 1990.

High Highness, The President, honoured the conference to be held under his sponsorship to the valuable results and recommendations of this conference which will support the official efforts in the agricultural development.

About two hundred scientists from different contents, who were selected to meet the criterion requirements of the conference purpose, will participate in this conference covering the fields of: high salinity tolerant plants in arid regions, avcina marina, soil and water.

Simultaneously, an international exhibition will be held for the advanced agricultural technology on high salinity tolerant plants in arid regions together with a display for relevant posters related to the topics which will be discussed in this conference.
