The design of the stamp highlights the landmarks of, and the logo is derived from the Islamic decoration art, with an eight-sided star formed through two overlapping squares. This represents the basis of the Islamic architectural decoration art found in all the trappings of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Resurrection.

The design also depicts the Dome of the Holy Rock, crisscrossed by a barbed wire that symbolizes occupation and restrictions.
