On 25/5/1981, the leaders of the Arab Gulf States, in the first session of the GCC Supreme Council, signed the memorandum of the foundation of the Gulf Cooperation Council States, which showed the desire of these states to strengthen and promote the cooperation and coordination between the six Gulf States who are similar geographically, culturally, socially and politically. The leaders emphasized that the real value of the council is basically shown as a result of a continuous efforts towards unity.
During the last years, the Gulf Cooperation Council was able to achieve great local, Arab and International achievements which showed the coordination and unity between the member states, strengthening the ties and relations between the different nations of the region and adopt similar systems in the fields of economic, trade, education, industry, agriculture and multi projects.
