Dubai Police is one of the modern Arab policing organizations made up of 15, 000 highly educated multi-skilled members. It is an integral part of the UAE Police that is headed by Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai HH General Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid AI Maktoum.
Dubai Police was established on 1st June 1956 at Naif Castle, which is currently a police station. In 1973, Dubai Police moved to its current headquarters (Northern AI Tawar-AI Itihad Road). The emblem adopted by Dubai Police symbolises quality and its mission statement is: (We are committed to be an anti-crime force that fights criminals and outlaws. We protect the rights and freedom of people, offer exceptional services to our clients, maintain the organization's supremacy driven by international excellence standards, develop our performance constantly, utilize our best resources to boost cooperation with partners and public under an effective leadership that stimulates innovation and creativity).
Dubai Police was the first Arab police force that applied the DNA system in criminal investigation. In addition, it was the first Arab police to use the (Electronic Print). It was the first, in the Arab world, to apply e-Government. Dubai Police has won many awards locally and internationally. In a competitive scenario, in generally outshines others.
Dubai Police preceded the US and several European countries in the use of the Patrol Tracking System by monitoring the transmission of (LORAN-C) signs in the Gulf region during the mid-eighties. Currently, Dubai Police is the first to use the Satellite Patrol Tracking System. It includes the social police that is much ahead of other police departments in the world. It also added to the organizational chart a new department to look after Human Rights.
Dubai Police is a distinguished force that's developing very fast. It was the first in the Arab world to introduce e-Services. Today, for example, anyone can renew his/her license from any spot in the world.
