In March 1998, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, the Minister of Industry & Finance in the UAE issued a decree instituting Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance in Dubai to support and promote the pedagogic and best practices in educational field.
