The celebration of the 28th National Day of the United Arab Emirates for this year coincides with the entry to the third Millennium with confidence and constant steps. The efforts of His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the U.A.E. and His Brethren, Supreme Council Members, Their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates were crowned by establishing the Union on the 2nd of December 1971.

In order to face the challenges of the new millennium, the U.A.E. has been able to achieve an essential leap in all economic, cultural, industrial, commercial and tourism fields to the extent that investment in the U.A.E. has become one of the highest incomes in the world.

Such development has been directed by huge resources towards the establishment of a sophisticated network of roads, health care centres and an integrated educational system from the primary to tertiary levels, and the creation of complex communication systems. Modern Technology has also been used in electricity, water desalination and the construction of modern housing, sports stadium, shopping malls and museums in addition to the encouragement of agriculture.
