Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation

Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation was established under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed AI Nahyan, President of UAE under a presidential Decree, Number (97) / 2015, dated on 05 October 2015, and on the Presidential Decision Number (5) / 2015 dated on 05 October 2015, which defined the members of the Award's Board of Trustees. 

 

 

On Tuesday, March 15, 2016, His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, with presence His Highness Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mabarak AI Nahayan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, President of Board of Trustees, attended the Launching Ceremony of the “Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agriculture Innovation" held at Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi. The event helped focus regional and international attention on the agriculture innovation and date palm tree, and the strategic future of these two sectors, and promoted it as a balanced food product, making it as an essential part of the sustainable development process initiated by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed AI Nahyan, President of UAE.
