Telecommunications have played a significant role in the economic, social and industrial growth of the United Arab Emirates. The Emirates Telecommunications Corporation Ltd. (ETISALAT) is the Telecommunications authority which administers the whole of the U.A.E. comprising the Emirates of Abu Dhabi -Dubai -Sharjah -Ajman- Umm AI Ouwain -Ras AI Khaima and Fujeirah.
Since the founding of Etisalat in 1976 under the direction of the Federal Government the Corporation has expanded its services to meet the rapidly expanding requirements of the country. Etisalat international communications make use of more than 1500 circuits and 3 satellite Stations.
