The first of February of each year marks the accession of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to the position of Crown Prince Dubai as per the decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai. 

Immediately following the announcement, His Highness Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashed Al Maktoum took charge of his national responsibilities with determination, steadfastness and futuristic vision to support the efforts of the wise Leadership to implement the drive of the Emirate to be a modern and developed city and one of the distinguished gems of the UAE. 

Time has vindicated the visionary insights and forward-thinking approach of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as the Crown Prince who works tirelessly and with commitment and generosity, the traits inherited from the noble Al Maktoum Family. 

One of the key responsibilities undertaken by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed is boosting the national identity amongst the Emiratis by igniting interest in the UAE’s heritage and working to preserve it for future generations. The Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Centre was established as a national entity to promote and preserve the UAE’s heritage to future generations of Emiratis as well as to Arabs and foreigners living in the UAE. It seeks to spread knowledge about the UAE’s heritage within and outside the Country through print and audio-visual documentations, while striving to become a reliable source for UAE’s culture, keeping alive the cultural, professional, lingual, social and sports heritage. 

The Centre, while celebrating the occasion of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s accession as the Crown Prince, aims to celebrate the local heritage and patriotism amongst Emiratis, and support more strongly the national identity, the drive which he began long ago before he became the Crown Prince of Dubai.
