The UAE witnessed the birth of the General Women's Association on 27th August 1975, chaired by H.H. Sheikha Fatma bint Mubarak, wife of H.H. Sheikh Z'ayed Bin Sultan AI Nahyan, the President of UAE.

OBJECTI\/ES OF THE ASSOCIATION: 1. Education and eradication of illiteracy were the main aims of the association. Therefore, illiteracy eradication centers were spread all over the country to promote the women educationally, spiritually and socially.

2. The Women's Association emphasized on the importance of maintaining the heritage in the activities of Women.

3. The Women's Association was engaged in spreading the health awareness to enable the Woman to play the role of health guide in her family and society.

4. The Women's Association had participated in Arab and international exhibitions and conferences to show the civilized aspect of UAE women.

5. The Women's Association has conducted special courses to develop the skills of woman, and qualify her to enter all fields of activities.

ACTIVITIES OF WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION Social activities carried on by Women's Association are varied, such as: social, humanitarian activities, participation in local and international exhibitions, national occasions, voluntary work and creation of Girl Scout Society.
