The golden days of Arab Islamic history marked the importance of horsemanship distinguishing the Arab Islamic character, well rooted in our history and heritage. Horses were the only means of which Islam spread all over the word, showing the glory and bravery of the Muslim warriors which made the Caliph, Omer Ibn AI-Khatab says: ., Teach your children swimming, archery and horse riding ".
Throughout their history, the Muslim Arabs emphasised their care with the horses showing their horsemanship values such as: Courage, Generosity and Bravery.
As per directions of His Highness, the President of the U.A.E. and Their Highnesses, the Supreme Council Members, in order to maintain, preserve and protect the uniqueness and originally of the Arabian horses, the U.A.E. showed its great interest of the horsemanship sport.
About (10) Equestrian clubs has been established in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Umm al Quwain, contributing in organising and supervising the horse races beside keeping and caring the original variety of horses such as: AI Hamdaniat, AI Saglawia, Kahila AI Rawdania, AI Digania, AI Jirdania and some other crossbreed types.
