Henna has played a vital role in the, Iife of Arabian Women. The elaborate lacy designs made by henna have been used to enhance beauty by women in the Arabian Gulf for many centuries. ln addition to that henna is applied medicine for hands or feet inflammations..
Henna is made from the henna leaves which are crushed and mixed with warm water and variety of, other ingredients such as coffee, tea and dried lime which are added to help in darkening the dye. The mixture is Kneaded well and then kept for an hour before it. Is used and then left upon the hands or feet for a, few hours. To impart the desired darkness of the red colour it is reapplied until it dries. The c colour usually remains on hands or feet for a few weeks.
Henna is usually applied upon hands or feet for social occasions such as feasts, weddings and celebrations. In the past women also used to, adorn their Hands with henna when their spouses, the pearl divers, returned back from the sea.
