1963 -1988

The National Bank of Dubai Ltd. was the first local Bank to be established in the U.A.E. under a decree and commenced operations in Dubai on 9th May 1963 with a paid up Capital of Rupees 13,500,000.

The Bank has consistently followed a conservative policy in its activities and has concentrated on consolidation rather than rapid expansion. As a result, it has maintained its premier position in the U.A.E. in terms of customer deposits and profitability. It regularly features among the top 500 Banks in the world.

NATIONAL BANK OF ABU DHABI

1968 -1988

The National Bank of Abu Dhabi was established under an Emiri Decree in February 1968.

Over the 20 years, National Bank of Abu Dhabi has made significant contribution to the development of the U.A.E. It pioneered the modernisation process through the recycling of petrodollars during the 70's, continued to play an active role in financing maintenance and development projects and in promoting trade relations between advanced and developing countries of the world. In its role as the lead Bank in the U.A.E. it continues to expand its branches and facilities throughout the country.

The National Bank of Abu Dhabi maintains mutually beneficial business relationships with Banks and corporations throughout the world and offers them the complete range of first rate financial services in the conduct of their business with the U.A.E.

The General Postal Authority is issuing a set of stamps in two denominations to commemorate this occasion.
